Daniella Palumbo, owner and baker of Ella’s Cakes is originally from Roslyn, New York. She has always had a passion for fashion design and an undeniable talent for pastry arts. If you’ve ever been so lucky to see one of her specialty cakes full of detail, it would be easy to see how her talents translate into a delicious work of art. She graduated from the Baking and Pastry Arts program at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 2003. Prior to her admission to the CIA, Daniella spent the years of ‘97-‘99 at the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in Manhattan, New York. There she studied Fashion Buying and Merchandising and worked in the garment district with the future goal of Fashion Design. It was then she realized that the “Fashion World” wasn’t for her and she had developed more interest in pursuing a career in Culinary Arts.
Over the past decade, Daniella has graced various restaurants and hotels in New York, Las Vegas and what she now calls her hometown- Naples, Florida. There’s no doubt now that wedding cakes are her true love. Daniella’s love for wedding cakes became a reality in 2005 (at the age of 26) after purchasing what was formally known as “Sweet Tier’s.” Sweet Tier’s soon became Ella’s Cakes, using the last four letters of her name “ella” and the name of her adopted miniature Daschund. You may even find the friendly pup, Ella, in some of their advertising campaigns.
From day one, Ella’s Cakes was established based on dedication, fresh quality ingredients and consistency. The incorporation of Daniella’s creativity and style shines through in all “baked to order” cakes. From the time the order is placed to the delivery, each cake leaves a lasting impression by creating a wonderful memory of your special occasion. Her loyal clients are happy to place orders and refer their friends and family year after year. Ella’s Cakes are known for their moist and flavorful layer cakes which have a silky smooth “melt in your mouth” buttercream icing. Some of Ella’s Cakes top sellers include: key lime-raspberry, passion fruit-coconut, carrot-cream cheese, red-velvet, white-raspberry-vanilla bean or white chocolate and dark chocolate-hazelnut mousse with chocolate ganache. The flavor combinations are endless!
Ella’s Cakes offers a variety of custom specialty and wedding cakes. Because all orders are baked fresh to the customer’s specifications, orders are taken at least a week in advance, depending on availability. All cakes are baked on site and are assembled into three layers per tier, adding two layers of filling within each tier. A variety of shapes, sizes, flavors and fillings are offered to create your own unique combination. Hours of operation and tasting fees:
During the months of October, November, April and May- Ella’s Cakes do book up in advance for wedding cakes. Orders are taken on a first come first serve basis. Ella’s Cakes is a personalized boutique-style “Cakery.” Time and dedication are put into each creation and as a result we are limited to a defined number of cake orders per week to ensure perfection in each custom cake creation.
